Press Kit

What is a press kit?
A LEAP press kit (also referred to as a media kit) is an electronic file containing a group of written materials for you to use to market, publicize, and inform the media, prospective clients/customers and others about your business. Contents can include—among other things—a history of your company, professional profiles of key executives or officers, black and white or color photos, a fact sheet about your organization, and recent press releases.

Who needs a press kit?
Who doesn't? Just about any business of any size looking for customers, sales, attention, and publicity needs a press kit.

Marketing and promoting your company effectively in today’s ground transportation/travel industry requires a few staples, including a website, late model vehicles, good customer service skills, and increasingly, a commitment to sustainability. Equally important is a promotional media kit designed to effectively market your company to customers, local media, trade publications, and others. Press kits are a business standard and are required for making contacts on many levels.

How do you create a press kit?
You let LEAP create one for you. Creating a press kit is daunting if you are, like most business people, unfamiliar with today’s media and marketing standards. We follow a proven 7 step process to ensure that your content is effective and ready for distribution.

What information should be included in your press kit?
At LEAP, we understand the importance of the “first impression” and know that a well-written, attractive press kit will serve as your company’s calling card. The contents of your custom press kit may vary, depending on your goals and audience, but a good starting point is to have an introductory/cover letter, corporate history and fact sheet, and other relevant topics for easy reference, including previous positive press coverage, photographs, etc.

In what format will we receive the LEAP press kit?
You will receive your finished product as a .pdf (Adobe Acrobat/Reader) attachment. We also offer an online press kit service and will maintain your press “presence” online for you. If you have additional specs and need the files in another format, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Will I have the chance to make edits and changes before you finalize the e-press kit?

Yes, the Press Kit flat fee is inclusive of two sets of edits/changes/proofs. We ask that all edits are submitted in writing via e-mail, and will ask that you sign off on the final version once it has been finalized.

We would like to include our logo in the kit. Is this an option?
Yes. We will include your logo on all your materials – email us all relevant logo and image photos at the beginning of the process and we will include them in the package.

Can I also include other items in my press kit, such as reprints of articles, ads, or newsletters?
Yes. Please let us know if there are additional items to include in your Press Kit. If there are any new items to write (e.g., an additional article), we will be happy to add the piece to your order and to your final fee.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express, as well as checks.

When are you ready to get started and what is the turnaround time?Once you order your press kit and make your secure online payment, you should expect an introduction e-mail from one of our writer-researchers within 1-2 business days. You should then expect the first draft of your Press Kit in 1-2 weeks of starting the process. We ask for your edits and comments within 1-2 business days from receipt of the first draft. Then we will implement them and finalize your e-press kit.
